SAN DIEGO (Nov. 29, 2023) – Sandy Smith, a risk management leader with more than 30 years of experience, joins ICW Group Insurance Companies as Vice President, Risk Management, leading the company’s extensive loss control services focused on workplace injury prevention for thousands of workers’ compensation policyholders nationwide.
Smith joins ICW Group with an extensive background in risk reduction, and her responsibilities include overseeing the company’s team of risk management specialists who identify, assess and mitigate risks for policyholders. She will also drive the development and implementation of risk management strategies and services designed to safeguard workers’ comp customers.

Prior to joining ICW Group, Smith led the policyholder services team for EMC Insurance Companies as Assistant Vice President and served in other risk improvement positions at Continental Western Group and Liberty Mutual. Smith has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Iowa State University. She also has ARM and AINS designations from The Institutes.
